Horizontal Scourer

The horizontal scourer is used in cleaning section and after the tempering section of flour mills. In cleaning section, it is used for the outer cleaning of the grain as well as separating the grain and the spike. Since it damages the wheat husk, the tempering is more effective. When it is used after the tempering section, it removes the husk and reduces the ash content of flour. It consists of a steel rotor placed inside a wire drum. The high speed rotor rubs the wheat onto the rotor, to other wheat grains and to the wire drum for the removal of the husk.
